4 weeks!!!

  • In 4 weeks my husband will be back home with me after nearly 9 loooong months away for BMT/tech school. I can't wait! I am sooooo excited!
  • My house was freezing this morning. Thank God for flannel sheets! I LOVE them...my husband HATES them. Well, actually he greatly dislikes them. He puts up with them just for me. That's TRUE love!
Just a few thoughts for the day-thought I'd share. =)

My new favorite piece of clothing! I just bought it tonight and it came in handy. I have my windows open and it's kinda chilly outside therefore making me cold. So...I just slipped this on and was warm once again! I love the green color too. It's actually a bit brighter than the pic shows. I also bought some brown boots for the upcoming winter months. I love winter clothes, but I'm not a fan of the weather! I guess I'd get bored without the season change though. Tomorrow is the first day of fall! Hooray! I love fall. Such beautiful colors from such an awesome God! =)

This is what I bought my husband cuz I love him so much! I told him I bought him a present and he was just dying to know. I told him I wasn't gonna tell him out right so he had to guess! Of course I had to give him several clues! He's SO excited! He & my nephews love playing with nerf guns. They are gonna have sooo much fun when he comes home! One more month! He might be coming home a few days sooner that we thought. I sure hope so. I miss him like crazy!

Just some ramblings...

Lately I've been thinking about myself a lot. Not in a vain way! I'm just realizing how imperfect I really am. Not that I ever thought I was perfect to begin with, but anyway. I am not an organized person, but would love to be. I like my work space to be orderly, but at home I somehow manage to ignore stuff that needs to be done. I measure my success by the success of others. That one in particular I just don't get cuz I've always "prided" myself in being an individual and not caring much what other ppl think. I can be a perfectionist in some areas. I don't want to be one of those "my way or the highway" kind of people, but if I don't watch it I could be. I guess that comes from being a person that doesn't deal well with change-particularly sudden change. If I have plenty of time to get used to the idea of change, then I can manage a whole lot better than if something is just sprung (for lack of better term) on me. I always like to have it together or make other people think I have it together! However, I've been surprised at how well I've handled Travis being gone for so long. He's been gone for alomost 6 months now. It hasn't been easy, but I haven't totally lost it either. I think it's gotten much harder here toward the end though. (Just 5 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!) I'm not trying to brag on myself. If it weren't for God helping me I know I wouldn't have handled it nearly as well. I owe my sanity and so much more to Him! I just thank God for always being with me every step of the way and for loving me- imperfections and all!

Here goes nothing...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

-The other day I did not buy the kids lunchables to avoid feeding them spaghetti cuz spaghetti's messy. Nope. I'm a good aunt/babysitter and would not do something like that!

-Saturday I was getting help installing a game on my computer and I absolutely did not have to go home to get all the info I needed. Twice. Not me. I always have it together.

-Today I most certainly didn't put the kids down for a nap a little bit early so I could have some peace and quiet--oh & to watch some NCIS. That would be selfish and I always think of the kids first.

-I am also not watching NCIS right now instead of taking my dog for a walk...I have linoleum in the kitchen. That would be a bad pet owner & I'm the best!
*Ok, so now I'm feeling guilty about not taking my dog out. See ya!

Red Friday & a day to remember...

I just want to say that I whole-heartedly support our troops-oversees & here at home. They sacrifice so much to preserve the freedoms that past heroes have given their lives for. I also support the spouses & families of all the troops. They also sacrifice a great deal. I have become more aware of that since my husband joined the Air Force. I am extremely proud of him and I am proud to be an American. I am going to do my best to support Red Friday. Red Friday means wearing red every Friday to show your support of our troops. (Click my title to view Red Friday shirts for sale. Cafe Press also has a great variety of other military merchandise!) I pray that God continues to bless the USA and will guide her leaders to make the right decisions.

6 weeks...

In just 6 short (well hopefully!) weeks my husband will return to me! I canNOT wait!!! I miss him. I had a great Labor Day weekend cuz I got to spend it with him! I'm overwhelmed with thoughts of moving in 2 months and all the things I'm gonna miss about the great state of Kansas. I won't list them right now cuz I don't want to start getting depressed. Anyway. That's pretty much it for now.
