I had a great time catching up with family and friends when I went back to Kansas, but I can honestly say it's great to be back home. I really missed my husband and my doggy. I know my husband missed me because he brought me a dozen roses when he picked me up from the airport! I absolutely LOVE roses!!! When I walked in the door and picked up my dog, he immediately started licking and sniffing me letting me know he missed me. I'm blessed to be loved so much! We're hoping to head to Kansas the 1st part of January, but we'll see if Travis can get his leave approved. I really, really hope so.

Homesick
Pronunciation: \ˈhōm-ˌsik\
Function: adjective
Date: 1756
: longing for home and family while absent from them
Well, that is what I was 2 weeks ago when I ordered tickets to fly to Kansas. I'm here now and am thoroughly enjoying being with my family. I like where we live now, but the absence of family close by is hard. I am determined to keep a positive attitude though. Trav being in the military is what we prayed about a lot and God answered positively. I will NOT complain/whine about it. I am thankful for Expedia because they usually have pretty good deals on airfare and I'm sure I will be using that website a lot!
I do miss my husband and dog terribly, but I'll survive! A couple of weeks after I get home Trav & I are hoping to be able to come back around New Years to celebrate Christmas with our families. After that I'll be looking forward to family coming to visit us in 2010. =) I am very thankful for such a wonderful family!!! (In-laws included!)

Busy, busy, busy!
Well, we don't have internet at our house yet. (I'm here at Panera using their free internet!) I've been keeping busy unpacking boxes. It seems like it'll never end! Oh well. My incentive is that the house has to be mostly in order before I start decorating for Christmas! (I can't wait to decorate!!!) Well, I need to head home. Still lots to do!

Happy 5th Anniversary to Us!!!
Well, we spent our anniversary traveling, but at least we were together! Our anniversary dinner constisted of beef jerky & some cheese from a gas station! Needless to say I won't forget this anniversary! I am so thankful that I found a wonderful man to marry. I'd do it all over again! I am so proud of him. =) We should arrive at Andrews AFB tomorrow.

Mixed Emotions
Well, I'm trying out a new blog look. I get bored with the same old stuff and I wanted to have one to celebrate fall because I love it so much! In one week my husband and I will celebrate our 5th anniversary and we'll be on our way to Andrews. Sigh. I'm nervous, excited, dreading it, and looking forward to it. I'm gonna miss so much, but I'm gonna see a lot of new things too.

It's raining leaves!
I think fall is the most beautiful season of the year. Besides that I was born in the fall and was married in the fall. I love how the trees change to such beautiful colors. Absolutely stunning! (These pictures are about 2 weeks old so the trees are even more vibrant now, but with fewer leaves!)
It's so nice to have my husband home! We will be on the road in 2 weeks. I'm trying not to freak out about everything. I just want to enjoy what time I have left here. I'm really gonna miss everyone!

Heeeeeeee's hooooome!!!!!!!!
I picked up my husband at the airport last night! We had a big turn out! His parents, his sister & her family, his brother & his wife, my parents, my brother & his family, and me. (19 total) My sister in-law, Trav's sister, and his mom made signs to hold. I'll post a few pics later. =) I'm soooo happy, glad, content, etc. It's very nice to have him home again. I think the best part was seeing Zeus's reaction to Travis. It was hilarious! I took a couple pics on my cellphone, but they don't do it justice! Zeus licked, sniffed, & jumped all over Trav. He was sooo excited! It was like they had never been seperated! =)

beyond steamed
I am totally beyond aggrevated that that we have to move 4 days earlier than we planned on. The thing that's especially frustrating is that Travis & I get to spend our 5th anniversary in our car traveling across the great USA towards Maryland. Ugh!!! Thank you freakin' USAF!
Ok. I'm done. Have a nice day.

Right around the corner!

NMM =)
I absolutely did not pack several boxes for our upcoming move just to find out I'm not supposed to pack anything. Ugh! On Saturday I was not in such a hurry (since I never run late) that I grabbed my drink and did not spill it all over the floor. Nope not me. I never spill anything because I'm always careful. I did not go shopping this weekend to avoid working on my house. I'm responsible and would never do such a thing. That's it. I guess my life is rather boring currently that I don't have more "not mes". For some more entertaining "Not Mes" head on over to MckMama's site (the creator of it all) and check out what she's not been up to! Enjoy your Monday! =)

Brrrr!!!
It is definately fall here in Kansas! It was 36 degrees this morning and it's now a balmy 41. Hahaha! I love fall weather though. I think fall is my favorite time of year. It holds the promise & excitement of the coming holidays. The trees outside my livingroom window are absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking even. My header picture was taken a few years ago in our front yard. As you can see, the leaves are beautiful! I will be sad to leave it behind in less than a month. I can only hope that Maryland will be gorgeous too. I'm going to try to take some pics and post them later. I just have to share the beauty I'm enjoying! (10 more days til my husband is home!!!)

Soon and VERY soon!!!
1 month til my 5th anniversary and 2 weeks from tomorrow til my husband returns to me!!! The trees outside my livingroom window are getting more and more beautiful. Fall is such an awesome time of year. I LOVE it! I can't wait to go to World's of Fun Halloween Haunt! I've never been to any Halloweenish thing so it'll definately be an experience. How good it is remains to be seen! I'll probably be scared to death. Oh well. I can just hang on to my husband for dear life!!! I'm extremely busy, but nothing's going on to blog about; not that I'm much of a blogger.

4 weeks!!!
- In 4 weeks my husband will be back home with me after nearly 9 loooong months away for BMT/tech school. I can't wait! I am sooooo excited!
- My house was freezing this morning. Thank God for flannel sheets! I LOVE them...my husband HATES them. Well, actually he greatly dislikes them. He puts up with them just for me. That's TRUE love!
My new favorite piece of clothing! I just bought it tonight and it came in handy. I have my windows open and it's kinda chilly outside therefore making me cold. So...I just slipped this on and was warm once again! I love the green color too. It's actually a bit brighter than the pic shows. I also bought some brown boots for the upcoming winter months. I love winter clothes, but I'm not a fan of the weather! I guess I'd get bored without the season change though. Tomorrow is the first day of fall! Hooray! I love fall. Such beautiful colors from such an awesome God! =)

This is what I bought my husband cuz I love him so much! I told him I bought him a present and he was just dying to know. I told him I wasn't gonna tell him out right so he had to guess! Of course I had to give him several clues! He's SO excited! He & my nephews love playing with nerf guns. They are gonna have sooo much fun when he comes home! One more month! He might be coming home a few days sooner that we thought. I sure hope so. I miss him like crazy!

Just some ramblings...
Lately I've been thinking about myself a lot. Not in a vain way! I'm just realizing how imperfect I really am. Not that I ever thought I was perfect to begin with, but anyway. I am not an organized person, but would love to be. I like my work space to be orderly, but at home I somehow manage to ignore stuff that needs to be done. I measure my success by the success of others. That one in particular I just don't get cuz I've always "prided" myself in being an individual and not caring much what other ppl think. I can be a perfectionist in some areas. I don't want to be one of those "my way or the highway" kind of people, but if I don't watch it I could be. I guess that comes from being a person that doesn't deal well with change-particularly sudden change. If I have plenty of time to get used to the idea of change, then I can manage a whole lot better than if something is just sprung (for lack of better term) on me. I always like to have it together or make other people think I have it together! However, I've been surprised at how well I've handled Travis being gone for so long. He's been gone for alomost 6 months now. It hasn't been easy, but I haven't totally lost it either. I think it's gotten much harder here toward the end though. (Just 5 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!) I'm not trying to brag on myself. If it weren't for God helping me I know I wouldn't have handled it nearly as well. I owe my sanity and so much more to Him! I just thank God for always being with me every step of the way and for loving me- imperfections and all!

Here goes nothing...
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
-The other day I did not buy the kids lunchables to avoid feeding them spaghetti cuz spaghetti's messy. Nope. I'm a good aunt/babysitter and would not do something like that!
-Saturday I was getting help installing a game on my computer and I absolutely did not have to go home to get all the info I needed. Twice. Not me. I always have it together.
-Today I most certainly didn't put the kids down for a nap a little bit early so I could have some peace and quiet--oh & to watch some NCIS. That would be selfish and I always think of the kids first.
-I am also not watching NCIS right now instead of taking my dog for a walk...I have linoleum in the kitchen. That would be a bad pet owner & I'm the best!
*Ok, so now I'm feeling guilty about not taking my dog out. See ya!

Red Friday & a day to remember...
I just want to say that I whole-heartedly support our troops-oversees & here at home. They sacrifice so much to preserve the freedoms that past heroes have given their lives for. I also support the spouses & families of all the troops. They also sacrifice a great deal. I have become more aware of that since my husband joined the Air Force. I am extremely proud of him and I am proud to be an American. I am going to do my best to support Red Friday. Red Friday means wearing red every Friday to show your support of our troops. (Click my title to view Red Friday shirts for sale. Cafe Press also has a great variety of other military merchandise!) I pray that God continues to bless the USA and will guide her leaders to make the right decisions.

6 weeks...
In just 6 short (well hopefully!) weeks my husband will return to me! I canNOT wait!!! I miss him. I had a great Labor Day weekend cuz I got to spend it with him! I'm overwhelmed with thoughts of moving in 2 months and all the things I'm gonna miss about the great state of Kansas. I won't list them right now cuz I don't want to start getting depressed. Anyway. That's pretty much it for now.

It's Monday again!
Well, today hasn't been too bad so far, but I've been busy & will be til I go to bed. Oh well. That's life! Anyway. Less than 2 weeks til I get to see my husband! I'm soooo excited! I bet you can't tell! Haha! I'm sure gonna miss my dog, but seeing Trav will cure that! I can't wait til Trav gets to come back home-just 2 more months!!! I know he's excited too. =) Well, I guess that's all I have to say in this boring post.

Georgia on my mind...
I'm flying out to visit Travis at 5:30am 3 weeks from tomorrow! I can't wait! It's been almost 2 months since I've seen him. =( I also can't wait to find out when we're moving. I only have a guess right now. Travis is excited about where we're gonna be stationed. We're going to Andrew's AFB, Maryland. I think it'll be a good experience and it could be exciting. =)

A lot can happen in a year...
Over the past year Travis found out he was accepted to the Air Force, he left for BMT, and has been gone for over 6 months now. I am very proud of him and am very tired of living without him. I've been to see him 2 times since he's been gone. I am so glad to have a dog to keep me company and to have a wonderful family to hang out with. Travis will be home in October and I am counting down! We are moving to Andrews AFB sometime in November. Travis is excited and I'm getting there! I'm so happy that he's happy. Travis and I will celebrate our 5th anniversary on the 5th of November this year too! I am not sorry I married him. He's the best!
